  • Readers: In some cases, personal information may be collected if readers register for the journal’s platform, sign up for newsletters, or engage with specific content.

The journal collects this information only when it is voluntarily provided, such as during the submission of manuscripts, the registration of accounts for reviewing or reading, or other communication activities related to the journal.

The personal information collected by MODERATE is used solely for the purpose of managing the manuscript submission, peer review, publication process, and communication with authors, reviewers, and readers. Specifically, the journal uses this information for:

  • Editorial and Peer Review Process: Managing submissions, coordinating the peer review process, communicating feedback to authors, and ensuring that the review process is conducted ethically and in a timely manner.

  • Communication with Authors and Reviewers: Notifying authors of the status of their submissions, requesting revisions, and sending final acceptance notifications. Reviewers are contacted to review manuscripts and provide feedback.

  • Providing Access to Published Articles: Allowing readers to access published articles, send them notifications about new issues, and provide any additional journal-related content such as newsletters or event announcements.

  • Administrative Purposes: Managing subscriptions, user profiles, and access to content, as well as conducting necessary activities such as invoicing or processing Article Processing Charges (APCs), when applicable.

After the completion of the publication process, some personal information may be retained for archiving purposes and to facilitate communication regarding the journal’s content.

For manuscripts that have been published, the personal information of authors, including their names, affiliations, and contact details, is kept in the public domain as part of the published article. This ensures that academic citations, credits, and references to the work are properly attributed.

4. Sharing of Personal Information

MODERATE respects the privacy of all individuals and ensures that personal information is shared only as necessary to fulfill its editorial functions. The following are the circumstances under which personal data may be shared:

  • With Peer Reviewers: Manuscript details, including the identity of the authors, are shared with selected reviewers to assess the quality and originality of the manuscript. Reviewers are required to keep all submitted material confidential.

  • With Editorial Team: Information may be shared with the editorial team, including editors, associate editors, and other staff, to facilitate the smooth running of the review, publication, and dissemination processes.

  • With the Publisher: Personal information may be shared with Perkumpulan Teolog Agama Kristen Indonesia (Indonesia Christian Theologians Association) or other publishing partners if required to manage the publication and distribution of articles.

  • Legal Compliance: Personal information may be shared if required by law, regulation, or legal process, including responses to subpoenas, court orders, or other legal obligations.

The journal does not share personal data with third parties for marketing or commercial purposes.

In cases where authors or reviewers wish to withdraw their submitted manuscript, their personal information will be deleted upon request unless the article has already been published, in which case, the information will remain publicly accessible as part of the article’s metadata.
